Publix Supermarket Heiress Julie Jenkins, Radio Host Alex Jones Provided Majority Of Funds For January 6th Rally That Led To Capitol Insurrection

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today the Wall Street Journal revealed that major mainstream conservative donors were behind hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding for the January 6, 2021 rally that led or contributed to the death of seven individuals, including three police officers.

The companies and their leaders that supported the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol must be held accountable, not just the Confederate-flag waving criminals caught on camera. For years, they’ve helped the extremist wing of the conservative movement take over the Republican Party. Those who funded this rally bear responsibility for the attempted overthrow of the government, the deadly violence inflicted on Capitol security, and the threats against lawmakers.”

BACKGROUND:

On Saturday, January 30, the Wall Street Journal disclosed more than $350,000 in donations or pledged donations from Alex Jones, far-right radio show host and conspiracy theorist, and Julie Jenkins, heiress to the Publix Super Markets Inc. chain, to the January 6, 2021 Washington, D.C. Stop the Steal rally. That rally led the crowd —that boasted of many individuals from several white supremacist groups — to breach the U.S. Capitol in the name of an outrageous and proven lie of election fraud.
