Derek Martin is Director of Research and Campaigns at Accountable.US where he oversees investigative research efforts.

In his previous roles as director and research director of Allied Progress, Derek has been involved in initiatives to defend the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), protect payday loan borrowers, and end discriminatory lending practices. Prior to that, he spent several years consulting on electoral campaigns around the country at the local, state, and federal levels. Derek also worked at the U.S. Department of Defense, supporting its counterintelligence mission within the IT supply chain and helping to devise risk mitigation strategies for the federal government.

A native of the Kansas City area, Derek earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Kansas, graduating from the Honors Program.
