Melissa is the Chief Operating Officer of Accountable.US. She has keenly developed organizational management and operations expertise through years of working in/with government offices, agencies, and progressive groups to provide sound guidance and enable teams to execute priorities.
Most recently, Melissa worked in Sen. Chris Van Hollen’s (D-MD) office managing executive and office operations, specifically helping to set up his office. She previously served in the Obama administration under both Housing and Urban Development Cabinet Secretaries as the Director of Scheduling and Advance. She has also worked in the U.S. House of Representatives and in local government as a grant writer and government affairs liaison for the City of Evanston, Illinois.
A native of Chicago, Melissa holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from Bradley University, as well as a master’s degree in public policy from George Mason University.
